Normally, I am an ardent remainer but sometimes I see something which makes me think that maybe Farrage and Mogg have a point.
Xavier Perret 41, a baker from Caen, Normandy has been banned from selling bread 7 days per week because he should be having a lie in once a week. He will be fined €2,500 per week until he complies. He says that in order to do this he would have to sack two members of staff and lose about €60,000 in revenue.
I do agree that the state has a role in ensuring that the croissants that Perret turns out are fit for human consumption but honestly, doesn't government have better things to do than stick its French stick into the spokes of the free market?
Ooh la la!
